Vintage African Baule Ikat Mudcloth Pillow | LANNY 18x18
We love the patterns and designs of the handwoven baule ikat prints that we find on our routine indigo mudcloth digs. These patterns arise from the Ivory Coast and are often worn for ceremonial purposes there.
African Indigo mudcloth is handwoven and expertly dyed in a resist pattern with indigo, a centuries old practice with cultural significance.
The design has become a must have here in the states, and thus an important export for West Africa. It is becoming more and more prevalent in America's fashion and home decor scene.
- Hidden Zipper enclosure along seam
- A Down Insert is Included
- Dry Clean Recommended
- We selected a soft organic cotton backing that complements the vintage fabric
Please keep in mind that variations may occur and that the eccentricities of the piece, in its hand-dyed quality are its most endearing features. We are careful to hand inspect all of the pillow covers after they have been dyed for your home.
Our pillows are produced in North Carolina and Los Angeles with care, and an eye for distinct quality and craftsmanship.
