Beautifully handmade African basket originating from Senegal. I was told that this was handmade by the seller's own tribe near Mali. He brings baskets to the US from Africa via air carrier and sells them on the street at the Culver City Farmer's Market here in Los Angeles.
We love the fun color and pattern, made from recycled plastic, against the organic texture of the grass basket.
These baskets make for wonderful decorative home storage and might be perfect for your jewelry or your little girl's bits and baubles.
Anywhere you put it, it will bring a fun boho flair with its eccentric shape.
Some of the plastic threads around the grass have come loose here and there, which I assume is typical, due to it's handmade nature. It doesn't detract from the basket, and only makes it that much more endearing.
With the lid on the basket stands 8" tall with a 6" diameter.
